Typification of structures
Deliverable D_3.1.9-3.1.10-3.1.11-3.1.12_n1The choice of selected buildings un S.M.ART. BUIL.T. Project is due to some characteristics considered fundamental as the geomerty, the preservation status estimated of the building and the possible use of vibrodyne. Subsequently it has been explained by the state-of-art the reasons why the geometry is considered among others the most remarkable criterion of choice.
Testing methods, equipment and analysis techniques
Deliverable D_3.2.1-3.2.2A very important phase in the experimental structural healht monitoring of historical heritage buildings monitoring is the design of the test setup and the sensors choice and calibration.
Operational Modal Analysis applied to historical structures
Deliverable D_3.2.3-3.2.7The data processing is the most important phase for evaluating the dynamical properties (frequencies and mode shapes) in the Operational Modal Analysis (OMA).
Comparing numerical data with tests results
Deliverable D_3.3.1-3.3.2This report shows the Finite Element (FE) models of the historical buildings analyzed in this project. The possibility of creating a realistic FE model of buildings may be considered very attractive for the final activities of the project and for the seismic evaluation of the structures especially if an experimental database of the identified modal parameters has been created.
Existing Structures: numerical model updating
Deliverable D_3.3.3-3.3.4_n1This report shows the procedure of the updating of the Finite Element (FE) models of the historical buildings analyzed in this project based on the use of the identified modal parameters have been utilized to evaluate the uncertain parameters of a three dimensional FE mode.
Model updating as a toll for damage detection
Deliverable D_3.4.1-3.4.2_3.4.3-3.4.4Operational modal identification techniques, also known as Ambient modal or Output Only modal, have been in recent years object if growing interest within several applications typical of civil, mechanical and aerospace engineering.
Decision support for the management of monitoring
Deliverable D_3.4.5-3.4.9_n1The concept of smart city (SC) is finding an increasing interest in the scientific community defined as an urban environment able to actively improve the life quality of citizens through a pervasive use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
Network Architecture Design
Deliverable D_4.1.1_n1The wireless sensor network world has been proved to provide for solution in various environments where monitoring is essential.
Initial Setup
Deliverable D_4.2.1_n1Deliverable 4.2.1 describes the actions taken and the appropriate configuration used to deploy the proposed/used system setup.
Testing and Evaluation
Deliverable D_4.2.2_n1Deliverable 4.2.2 describes the testing procedures used for the testing of the wireless network (latencies, ping responses, data trasfer tests, etc.), the testing and evaluation of sensor data synchronization and the evaluation of the accelerometer sensor data.
Data Collection Unit Working
Deliverable D_4.3.1_n1This document is about the web application that supports the S.M.ART. BUIL.T project. The technologies used and the architecture of the application are presented.
Deployment of wireless network in 4 historical buildings [A]
Deliverable D_4.4.1Due to the nature and limitations of the S.M.ART. BUIL.T. project an advanced wireless sensor network was designed that handles the sensor data acquisition, synchronization and deliverance. In this document we present the deployment of the wireless network system at historical buildings in both Greece and Italy.
Deployment of wireless network in 4 historical buildings [B]
Deliverable D_4.4.2-4.4.4_4.5.1-4.5.3_n1Due to the nature and limitations of the S.M.ART. BUIL.T. project an advanced wireless sensor network was designed that handles the sensor data acquisition, synchronization and deliverance. In this document we present the deployment of the wireless network system at historical buildings in both Greece and Italy.
Rapid screening method of seismic safety
Deliverable D_5.1.1-5.1.4_n1The evaluation of seismic risk and vulnerability for existing structures is a complex activity, and it need further studies.
Combining push-over analysis response spectrum
Deliverable D_5.1.5-5.1.6_n1A policy of prevention of seismic risk on a regional scale requires the knowledge of the risk faced by historic buildings.
Probabilistic seismic risk assessment
Deliverable D_5.1.7-5.1.8_n1The present document reports some issues related to the probabilistic seismic risk assessment of masonry structures.
Actual building vulnerability from strong motion arrays
Deliverable D_5.2.1-5.2.6_n1The seismic risk of the territory is a particularly delicate for the Apulia region and for the Greek state, due to the complexity of the functions that must be guaranteed in the various stages of assessment, prevention and management of post-earthquake.
Techniques and methods for vulnerability reduction
Deliverable D_5.3.1Urban Rehabilitation plan for a pilot district
Deliverable D_5.3.2_n1This deliverable has been extracted from a specialist report on the recovery plan of an ancient village, drawn drawn up on assignment of Politechnic of Bari, based on the recommendations of the Decreto Ministeriale dei Lavori Pubblici dated January 14th 2008, chapter 8, and the Circolare Esplicativa dated February 2nd 2009, no. 617, issued by the Consiglio Superiore dei Lavori Pubblici, as well as the Manuale per la compilazione della scheda di 1° livello di rilevamento danno, pronto intervento e agibilità per edifici ordinari nell’emergenza post-sismica (AeDES).
Historical Buildings: Monitoring Via Wireless Sensor Networks

Guidelines for seismic vulnerability reduction
Deliverable D_5.3.5_n1The crucial regulatory step, referred to earlier, which led to an acceptance of these particular buildings peculiarities, which are those historic in masonry, it was got with the publication of the "Guidelines for the assessment and mitigation of cultural heritage seismic risk "in 2006.
Rules for strengthening and repair of historical buildings
Deliverable D_5.4.1_n1Historical centres among culture, art and techniques: The case study of Corfu
Deliverable libro_grecoDuring the last years, the European Community has developed a strong awareness of the role played by historical buildings, not only as objects to preserve, but also more importantly as discrete national and regional cultural resources. It is widely known that these buildings represent a key element of the history and the identity of local communities, and of course they additionally contribute to local development both in terms of touristic and economic growth.
Historical centres among culture, art and tecniques The case study of Trani
Deliverable libro_traniS.M.ART. BUILT, project derives substantially from that which can now be defined as a international character general requirement: the need of developing the highest level of structural and constant health monitoring of important historical and artistic buildings that just because art works and undisputed humanity heritage; should be carefully monitored and protected. In this context; the project, funded by European and National funds, provides for the participation, among other partners, the town of Trani, a historic town situated about 40 kilometers north of Bari, just provided with extraordinary artistic value and increasingly internationally recognized, as demonstrated by tourists massive presence from all over the world.
